ACCOUNT APPLICATION
The Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth) 'PPSA' is a major new legal development that came into effect across Australia on the 30 January 2012. The PPSA significantly changes the law about the hire of equipment and has posed many challenges for the rental industry.
As a result of the PPSA, it is essential that all applications for commercial credit fully comply with our Equipment Hire Terms. There are a number of things new applicants must do as part of the application process including;
- All credit applications must be in the exact name of the legal entity. This may be a registered company (ie Pty Ltd), a sole trader, a partnership, a trust, government entity etc.
- A.C.N. must be provided for all company accounts
- We require the date of birth of all applicants together with a copy of a current drivers license or passport
- We require all company directors to sign the application. Likewise, we require all applicants to sign the application.
There are three download documents attached to this page. These downloads are the Force Corp Application for Commercial Credit, the Force Corp Equipment Hire Terms and the Force Corp PPSA Explanatory Note.
We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the PPSA Explanatory Note. The explanatory note is intended to provide you with a source of information to explain our standard equipment hire terms. This note should not be taken as legal advice. General PPSA information is also available at www.ppsr.gov.au and your legal advisor should also be able to assist you.
