Force Hosting Elevated Work Platform Association

Force Hosts Elevated Work Platform Association

On the 24th February, Force was proud to host a meeting of the Elevating Work Platform Association of Australia at our Homebush facility in Sydney. The meeting was run by John Glover our National Service Manager, and the NSW President of the EWPA.

Elevated Work Platform Association Meeting

The EWPA is a very important representative body for the EWP industry. It makes submissions to governments and certifying authorities, plays a role in public consultations, keeps companies like Force up to date on changes to training standards, and provides a forum where members can discuss issues and swap information.

Our Homebush location was ideal as the branch is home to Force’s 10-year certified maintenance inspection program and Head Office. With over 200 square meters of covered workshops this was an ideal place for the industry to gather and talk working-at-heights.

Secondary Guarding Products

One of the key discussion groups at this meeting was on a topic near and dear to our hearts: safety.

Showcased at this meeting were a range of Secondary Guarding Products. Industry OEM’s have developed the Secondary Guarding products in response to several accidents in Australia and Internationally where workers have suffered crush injuries while operating EWPs. The OEM products on display included:.

Force was able to facilitate demonstrations of these devices, and many large organisations who invest heavily in the safety of their people were present, including; Leighton, Hansen Yunken and Select Plant Hire.
